Dirty Dozen vs. Clean 15

my latest blog post The Environmental Working Group’s “Dirty Dozen” and “Clean 15” lists are great references for what produce items are more of a priority to buy organic. ⁣The “Dirty Dozen” refers to the top 12 produce items with the most chemicals and pesticides. It is recommended to buy these organic. The “Clean 15” is a list of the top 15 produce items with the least amount of chemicals and pesticides. Save the extra money and buy these conventional instead of organic.

For example, strawberries are very porous and hard to clean so it is recommended to buy them organic. Whereas you don’t eat the skin of an avocado or pineapple so save money and skip organic on those! ⁣

I should have looked at this list before buying overpriced organic broccoli last week. 🤦‍♀️⁣

Keep these lists handy so you know what produce items you should buy organic and which you can skip!
